Washington Post: A Day in the Life of Mormon Missionaries.

A day in the life of Mormon missionaries

So a couple of weeks ago, Samuel's brother, Abraham sent us all this link to a short video portrayal of a day in the life of Mormon missionaries that he found on the Washington Post. And I think I'd have to agree with him that this is one of the best I've ever seen. I think an awful lot of people carry a lot of misconceptions of what missionaries are, especially Mormon missionaries. I, for one, have an incredible amount of admiration for these young men (and women!) who give the Lord two of the best years of their life to try and enhance the lives of others. I think a lot of people believe that those who are in the service of God as missionaries are there to 'push' religion onto those of no faith and to stuff it down their throats as it were. But as you'll see in this video, these young men are humble, down-to-earth and relatively 'normal' 19 and 20 year-olds. They are there solely to edify and uplift the people they are serving with the true word of God. There is no forceful feeding of our religion, there are no ultimatums given; just pure love and a quiet acceptance of whatever may happen on that doorstep.

So here is the link to the video - I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. As more light is shed upon the LDS religion, we too must help in the effort to show the world who we are, who we represent and how it is that we are just such a happy people.
