This month we are celebrating six months of marriage! Big deal. Every day is beautiful and every day I feel blessed to be married to my best friend. We celebrated by going to Idaho Falls and gracing Red Robin with our presence...and our money... then we left, the night was young and we were looking forward to snuggling up for a movie or something when we got home. We rolled in to our humble abode around 9pm and totally crashed on the sofa. We were OUT. So, yep. In bed by 9pm on our anniversary. Livin' it large. That being said, we still had a fun day together.
In other news, we finally got our wedding pictures! We had our pictures taken by Samuel's cousin Aubrey, who was on the go all day and did a fabulous job! Here's a little peek...
Getting those pictures just reminded us of what a beautiful and perfect day it was. I really could not have asked for anything more that day.
Well, this summer has mainly consisted of Samuel working full time and Ally staying home and keeping on housework, reading and scrapbooking... and watching TV.
We did get the chance to go up to Washington to visit the Wise familia, where 4 of the 6 brothers were able to spend some time together. Abuelita was also staying with the padres, so it was wonderful to see her and spend the week with her too... she came on all our escapades, including a hike around Mt. Rainier! What a star she is :)
The day before we left, we were able to have a family day with Ammon and Melissa and little Zeke, who were up our neck of the woods for a family reunion, and Elias and Becky and baby Helam, who came to stay with us for a couple of nights before we raced each other to Sunnyside. Unfortunately, that day the weather decided to be poopy and so we weren't able to go on the adventures we had planned. But, embracing the Wise's we are, we played many a card game and some soccer when the weather cleared up. It was so fun to spend time with them, especially when Ammon and Melissa live all the way down in Escondido, CA.
After the jam-packed fun fest that was visiting the family, it was all a bit anti-climatic and Samuel was noticeably down about now being so far away from his brothers and having to go back to a less exciting schedule. So, I promised to live close to family and encouraged him to call his cousin, Eva, who just got home from a mission in Peru and will be coming to Rexburg for school in a couple of weeks. That and a few cuddles soon cheered him up :) It's such a blessing to be married to a man who values family and fun, wholesome recreation so highly. I know I'm lazy but I need a man who actually wants to go out and do fun stuff instead of rotting in front of the TV all day.
Well, I know I promise to not pack so much into my posts in the future but ya know, four months brings a lot to tell! But from now on, scouts honour, I will post more often and be able to keep it short, sweet and to the point. Oh, and after I convince Samuel to get a camera we will actually carry round and take pictures with, I can post some pictures of all our crazy shenanigans.
Happy Tuesday! Make it count :)
- Ally
