So after twelve months and three weeks of dating,
eight months separated,
countless skype dates,
and cheesy emails,
We finally got married on February 19th, 2011.
And now we must blog all about our fantastic married life. Naturally. :)
So, here we are. Married, and living with each other, in our own little two-bed apartment in Rexburg, Idaho. Weird living with a boy. But totally completely awesome living with my best friend.
The wedding went pretty smoothly.. despite the fact we were still running round like crazy fools the whole day before. It rained, and it was cold, and maybe the reception started a little late. But after we got out of the temple, nothing else mattered. No stress, no worries, just complete happiness. It was a perfect day.
Getting married on a three day weekend though, does mean no honeymoon. :( We ran away to a hotel in Salt Lake for the evening, but the rest of our time was spent taking family pictures and spending time with them all before they jetted back to England or drove back up to Washington or down to California. And then we had to head back up to the freezing lands of Rexburg and finish up the semester. BUT, we held out til spring break at the beginning of April and made a roadtrip down to Escondido, CA to spend the week. We stayed with Ammon, Melissa and little Zeke and spent most of our time in San Diego at the Zoo, Sea World and the Safari Park. Then we spent the last two days in VEGAS BABY!
First stop was San Diego Temple for the wedding of our good friends Jon and Stephanie Martin, such a beautiful day for a beautiful wedding! |
Is this not the most awesome shot of Shamu? Hubby's got skills! |
Needless to say, it was a totally awesome way to spend our Spring Break!
Now we're back to the grind.. school and work have officially taken over again. But being married definitely takes the edge off. Being able to come home and just be with each other is such a blessing. Because he's awesome. And I love him.
Well, now you're all officially updated with what we've been up to since Febs, hopefully our next posts won't be so jam-packed. :)
Happy Friday Eve!
Love, Samuel and Ally
